Everyday Camera Bag Review - The Evergreen Legacy Camera Sling

I'm a "take everything with me" type of travel photographer. Not terribly minimalistic; only limited by the space available to me to store all the goods I can possibly squeeze into my camera bag.

As far as camera bags go, I've experimented with dozens - big and small brands + big and small bags. The Legacy Bag is my first sling! I've been fairly skeptical of slings for my camera, I worry about everything being in the same pocket, bonking and clinking around, things getting scratched or dinged while I'm out and about. So, I've steered clear of them for a while.

About a month ago, I was given this bag by another photographer (in all honesty I won it in a IG contest, I usually never win anything so I hadn't thought much of entering, but surprise, that's not true anymore!). I don't think I would have ever noticed this bag otherwise, had it not been for this contest. It introduced me to Evergreen Cases as a brand too. When it arrived in the mail I felt a little weary, like am I sure this bag is for me, how do I use a sling for my cameras, ah, what do I do?! But it was so good looking, buttery brown leather and well structured with an intuitive layout. Couldn't help but start packing it up!

The Good Bits for this Everyday Camera Bag for Travel Photography:

🖤 The padded interior is perfect, the whole interior is padded and it comes with a divider to keep all the clinky things like keys and tools away from your camera. You can also use it to keep an extra lens safe from your camera body (as you'd usually do haha). There's not one, but two outside pockets, both hidden. The back pocket lays flush against your body while wearing the bag and the other is hidden under the leather fold in the front. I love this feature, especially when wearing a sling - I want to feel like someone can't just easily slide open your pockets if you're standing somewhere crowded. It's safe.

🖤 Perfect for small cameras. This is a daily carry situation. Excellent size for your point and shoot, a roll of film, and all the extra bits that you want/need to bring on your photo walk!

🖤 Good looking! I mean the leather...so buttery. Well made, solid integrity in the stitching and overall make. The strap is thick and adjustable and I love how it matches the color of the body. The black trim details are complimentary and the logo is perfectly placed, discreet but clear. It looks sharp.

The If-Only's:

→ A little challenging to clean, shows some scuff...but honestly that's leather and kind of gives it its worn charm.

→ Not for travel photography that needs big cameras or lenses. You could probably fit your extra lens in here if you carry your camera around your body separately - which I have done and find really helpful!

The Consensus:

I'm now into slings for my travel photography camera gear. It's official. Thank you Evergreen for making the best case for this case. I'm so pleased and so stoked to be using this bag on my photo walks, day trips to other cities, quick jaunts around town, and everything else. It's a perfect everyday camera bag worth investing in. 🖤
